DAY 14: Favorite Fairy Tale

I like the movie BRAVE which is Pixar's first fairy tale.  As for the drawing technique, I think the Icon Pop Quiz did this to me.

A few of my favorite things: Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

My new favorite go-to place for a Cupcake fix: Vanilla Cupcake Bakery.  The sweetness that is just right for my taste.  I visited their newly opened branch in ATC last April.  I first had a bite of their yummy cake at Glorietta and fell in love with it instantly!
One thing that I noticed about their cupcakes is most of them are banana-bread-based.  I don't eat banana bread AND carrot cake so at first I am very SAD to hear when I ask the lady behind the counter if the bread in the cupcake is made from banana because I can see it has a darker brown color and there's the dreaded answer: YES.  CONFIRMED.  I can't and won't eat it.  I'd just choose any other flavor as long as it doesn't have the banana bread thing on it.
And this what made my visit to their ATC branch memorable because I finally decided to give these banana cupcakes A TRY.  I ordered the one with strawberry.  And to my surprise, I liked it A LOT! Thanks to the frosting and the strawberry chunk inside the cupcake.  It made me forget I'm eating banana bread!
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery's signature decor

Another favorite of mine from their menu is the Red Velvet Cheesecake.  It's a bit pricey for a slice but the portion is big naman so it's good for sharing up to 3 people.

Hhhhhmmm.  What else?! Well, I might have to say this.  I tried bringing the cupcakes as my "baon" to watch a movie paired with popcorn.  It didn't turn out a good idea.  Eerrrkkk!

DAY 13: Favorite Comic

Growing up, it's no other than KUYUG!

DAY 12: Most Recent Accomplishment

This is a bit embarrassing to admit:  I don't know how to swim.  And to help myself learn this essential survival skill my family went to a swimming outing.  That is besides from the fact that it's oven-hot at home the whole summer.  It's a good break from merely sweating while I sit in front of the computer or do household stuff.  We stayed at La Traviesa Hotel and Resort.  The place is beautiful plus the food, spa and accommodation rate is perfectly within our budget!

Most recent accomplishment therefore is I gained much confidence now to float and swim for about 2 meters.  A big thanks to my father and my siblings who patiently taught me the basics!  There's always room for improvement and this means I have to practice more.  I used to enjoy my time in the pool just sitting, standing and walking with a "salbabida" or a lifebuoy :-p

DAY 11: Turning point in my life

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
~Neale Donald Walsch~

This drawing is to represent the 1st major turning point in my life.  It was year 2005 that my adventure began when I finally decided to go out of my comfort zone and discover a future I might have by working overseas in the land of the desert!

Here are 3 more inspiring quotes about moving out our comfort zone which I believe is an important key to reaching significant turning points in our lives:

"Move out of your comfort zone.  You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new." ~Brian Tracy~

"A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future.  You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown." ~Denis Waitley~

"To the degree we're not living our dreams,  our comfort zone has more control of us
than we have over ourselves." ~Peter McWilliams~

DAY 10: Favorite Candy

"Some moments are like cotton candy.
They're wonderful and sweet, but you know they just won't last."
~ Susan Gale

It's kind of a sad quote but true, don't you agree? I hope your week is off to a great start! If any of us is struggling with fear may the following verse from the Bible guide and help us face whatever lies ahead:

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.  Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)

Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened."
1 Peter 3:13-14 (NIV)

DAY 7: Favorite Movie

I'm on DAY 7! Yeeey! I sketched this last Friday night.  The girl on the left is Meg Ryan with her gorgeous short hair opposite is Tom Hanks.  I can't tell you how many times I've watched this film!  Maybe I will watch it again later :)

A line from the movie that really resonates with me:

Kathleen Kelly: [writing to "NY152"] Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life - well, valuable, but small - and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void. (Source)
